Reproduction Permissions and Fees

All requests for permission to publish, distribute, or display any materials in the collections of the Dyer Memorial Library in any format (including use on websites) must be made in writing to the Dyer Memorial Library Director. Permission to publish, distribute, or display any materials will be granted at the discretion of the Dyer Memorial Library Board of Trustees.


A self-service copy machine is available; copies are 10¢ per page, payable to any staff member.

Photocopies are for personal use only. Making photocopies of materials does not constitute or imply permission to publish.

Enlargements and Color Copies

Upon request, the Dyer Memorial Library will make photocopy enlargements and/or color photocopies of material in its collection for a researchers' personal use only.

These items are not to be duplicated or reproduced without written permission from the Dyer (please refer to the section below for details on materials for publication).

Enlargements up to 11" x 17" and color copies up to 8½" x11" can be ordered at $1.50 per copy. There is also a $10.00 service fee per order.

Please complete an order form to request enlargements and/or color copies. Order fulfillment takes about one week from the receipt of the request.

Photographic Reproductions

At this time, the Dyer does not provide standard-format photographic images (black-and-white and color photographic prints, color transparencies, and slides) for publication, motion picture or video reproduction, exhibition, or other purposes.

However, requests may be made for specific items in the Dyer collection to be photographed for purposes of reproduction.

Photography arrangements must by made by the researcher, with approval of the Dyer staff.

All requests for photographic work must be made in writing and include a complete and detailed citation for each item requested, as well as a clear, complete description of where and how the image will be reproduced.

No Image may be reproduced in any form without the written permlsslon of the Dyer Memorial Library.

Permission to Reproduce Images from the Dyer Memorial Library

It is necessary for researchers to obtain separate, written permission for the reproduction or publication of all materials from the Dyer collections and permission to do so will be granted at the discretion of the Dyer Memorial Library Board of Trustees.

Requests to photograph and/or payment of fees does not constitute or imply permission to reproduce documents or images.

Include a complete description of each item to be reproduced, together with a complete description of where, how and when the item(s) will be reproduced.

Permissions are for single, one-time use only.

The Dyer Memorial Library does not give open-ended or multi-year permissions for reproduction.

Each separate use (publication, exhibition, broadcast video, home video, theatrical release, etc.) must be requested in writing. Each reproduction in any format, or republication in the same or different format, requires a separate permission request.

All reproductions must credit the Dyer Memorial Library as the source of the image.
