Donate to the Collections
Your support ensures that the Dyer can continue collecting, maintaining, and making available to the public our enormous collection cultural and historical materials related to the towns of Abington, Rockland, and Whitman.
Consider donating money to help the Dyer buy acid-free folders, boxes, tissue paper, etc. to keep your donation safe for future generations.

Donate photos, books, documents, artifacts, etc.
Since 1932, the Dyer Memorial Library & Archives has relied on individuals to donate important artifacts, paintings, textiles, letters, diaries, receipt books, genealogies and books of Abington, Rockland and Whitman provenance to build the collections, preserve them, and make them accessible. This collection has grown through the generosity and support of individuals and organizations that have donated to it over the past 90 years.
The staff at the Dyer has to weigh every object we consider acquiring carefully to ensure we can properly care for the item for the foreseeable future and that the object will allow us to interpret the region’s history in some meaningful way for the communities and various constituencies that we serve. Due to storage considerations, and a current backlog of cataloging, we are unable to accept some items offered for donation. We are always happy to review your items and are always interested in seeing new things! Please note that federal law prohibits all museums from providing valuations on any items and you would need to contact a certified appraiser for that information.
If you have an item you would like us to review for donation please contact us at oldabingtonma@gmail.com and describe the item(s) you wish to donate. Be sure to include your contact information in your message including the best phone number to call you.
